View from the Farm
By "Six" Ten Ron
The last several years, an influx of talent have transformed the Yankees from one of the oldest teams in the league to potentially one of the youngest. Players like Ching Ming Wang, Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, and Ian Kennedy. Have been drafted or signed as young players to insure the Yanks future.
This year we will feature some of the talent down on the Farm. On our down on the Farm Report. In recent weeks the Yankees have lost several players to the DL. When the Franchise injured his rib cage, the Yankee brass did not panic, they called up Darrell Rasner. Having the ability to have a Farm system that can turn a potential nightmare into relief.
In the off-season the Yankees resigned Catcher Jorge Posada to a four year deal. Brian Cashman knows that Jorge is very key to the Yanks future. He is one of the best catchers in baseball, and one of the Yanks MVP's.
His replacements this year have played well and both Chad, and Bengie even though they love starting they know that Jorge needs to be the catcher if the Yankees want to succeed and win number 27.
Our fans demand the best from the Yankee brass. In recent years the Catcher position has been a focal
point of the Yanks Minor League system.
The future might not be that far away. The Charleston River Dogs the Yanks Class A club have a Catcher by the name of Jesus Montero. This young 19 year old Catcher from Venezuela is 6"4 225 pounds of raw talent. In 35 games he has belted 5 homeruns 28 rbi slugging .507 and o yeah just batting .322.
We will keep you updated but you might want to remember this name Jesus Montero. Coming to a ball park near you.
The new house that A-rod, the Babe, Bernie, Berra, Billy, DiMaggio, Gator,
Gehrig, Jeter, Mantle, Mattingly, Munson, O'Neal, Reggie, Rivera, memories will
reside but the house that George Steinbrenner built.
