All Star Tribute but not enough!
July 16, 2008
By Frank Solares
I loved almost 99% of the All Star Celebration. Ok 98%, yet I was surprised when you feature the Managers and not include Joe Torre.
Torre was in town, would it kill them to bring him in and get the honor he deserved.
The other moment that I believe was not as great. It was when The Boss came out. Who the heck where the Fans and what the heck were they doing when the Boss drove by. This Man is as important as The Babe, Mantle, and Joe D. "The Boss" Mr. Steinbrenner deserved a better introduction. I know that Buck is the voice of Fox (He is arguably the best in the business) yet he was the wrong guy for that moment. Fox needed to build up the moment, the stadium needed to fire off some fireworks and can we get him a better automobile.
Mr. Steinbrenner is the greatest owner in sports history! They could have treated the moment a little better, a little more respectful.
The first pitch was kind of Awesome!
Game recap.
The Yankee hitters sucked & Mariano pitched two great innings.
Oh the AL won & and a Sox player took home the MVP. (Should have gone to Uggla for helping AL win, and or Cook for pitching well)
Thanks for giving us home field advantage guys.
