Star of the Night

Giambino, Jorge, and Draft.

By Frank Solares.

Jason Giambi hit a monster shot into the right field upper deck as the Yankees won a dramatic baseball game. He sat all game, then came up to pinch hit for Molina. With A-rod on second he blasted the pitch and sent the Jays home feeling Blue.

Jorge OK

Posada played in his first game back since April. The Yankee Catcher was arguably the best clutch player they had last year. Today he was 1-3 in his first game back of the DL. He said after the Game that he felt good being out there, and is looking forward to see how will do the next game out.

Ching Ming Wang looked bad again pitching all day in trouble. The error by the Melk Man did not help, it only made a bad 5 innings seem worse. If the Yankees want to turn the season around they better start pitching better.

Speaking of pitching the Yankees Drafted Gerrit Cole right handed pitcher from the OC.

This seventeen year old man is 6-foot-3 will continue to grow and is expected to add more pounds at his current 195 weight. He is considered a power pitcher at 95 to 98 mph fast ball.

According to MLB.com Cole went 8-2 with a 0.47 ERA as a senior at Orange Lutheran this year, striking out 121 batters in 75 innings, allowing 13 runs (five earned) and walking eight.

The other player selected as they were compensated for losing Vizcaino to the Rockies. They selected with # 44 (Reggie) good sign Jeremy Bleich from Stanford University. Listed at 6-2 and weighing in at a small 190 lbs.
