Hughes, Abreu, then Chamberlain to Mo & Goodnight!
April 3
By Frank Solares
The Franchise is well on his way to a great season. Following a year that had its ups and downs with the almost No No in Texas, then came an injury that kept him out until August. A magical September, then a great postseason, where you dared to imagine and dream of a great beginning. Everyone knew that Phil almost went to Minn for Santana, despite the rumors and craziness behind the idea of giving up two future stars. Brian Cashman held his ground and turned it down. Only time will be the final judge of this none trade, and as a fan I tell you, I rather have Phil, Ian, and Joba.
Phil pitched a good game his line was 6 IP 4 h 2 r 4 K 1 BB on 86 pitches. Not bad for his first start of the yea! As he gets more comfortable and stronger he will make everyone say Johan who? Look out the sky is the limit the future looks very bright.
A-BREU cooked up a great comeback
Did everyone forget the start that Abreu had at this time last year. It was pretty bad! As bad as he was last year he has looked that great this year. He came to camp in great shape, lets not forget the back of his baseball card, his numbers will always be there at the end. This year it might be a little more special, hitting in front of Alex, and Jason. This Man going to have a monster year. Think how crazy the line up will look when half the team is hitting. Before everyone anoints the Tigers as the best line up in Baseball lets play the year out first, we shall see who is on top at the end of the year.
Chamberlain to Mo & Goodnight Charlie!
People in Baseball better start paying attention to the end of the Yankees bullpen. If they stay healthy this might be the best one to punch in the game. When Joe was asked about his duo, he quickly noted that his complete bullpen will be strong this year. "Your going to win with pitching and Defense" He also said. "When you have a bullpen that can shut the door it is much easier."
If Mo is still Mo and Joba can give us at least 75% of what he gave last year LOOK OUT!
MAGIC NUMBER 98!!
