Star of the Night

Damon 6-6 Angelic in comeback victory

By Frank Solares.

Johnny Damon did something that only 1 other Yankees had done in the History the Yanks that was go six for six in a nine inning day.  That says a lot considering that several hall of fame players have worn the pinstripes.

This marked the third time in the history of the Team that a player went 6-6 in a game. The other two were Myril Hoag in 6-6-34 against the hated Red Sox and Gerald Williams in a fifteen inning affair against the Baltimore Orioles.

Damon who also shares the record for most runs scored with five, is demonstrating to the faithful that when he plays well the Yankees win.

Johnny be good has raised his average to 326. for the year. He has truly had a remarkable turn around from his start of the year. His four RBI proved to be the difference in the victory.

Almost a year ago he was considering retirement. Now he is one of the most important hitters on the team, and as he improves so will the team.
